Maritime Testing has a long and proud history of providing environmental, geotechnical and materials engineering and consulting services throughout Atlantic Canada.
Since 1985, we've been growing with our clientele by constantly innovating and adapting to the changing needs of industry and the environment.
We operate from our Head Office and custom designed laboratory in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, our permanent office in Moncton, New Brunswick, and several satellite field office and laboratories that travel with projects throughout the Maritimes.

Whether planning a new land development, constructing new transportation infrastructure or facing an existing environmental problem, Maritime Testing offers a wealth of expertise and experience in the fields of environmental, geotechnical and materials engineering.
We offer consulting, inspection, testing and design services through four service sectors: Environmental Assessments, Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Indoor Environments.
Maritime Testing operates from our main office and laboratory in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia as well as from seasonal field offices in various locations throughout the Maritimes. In March of 2009 Maritime Testing also opened a permanent office in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Environmental Assessments
From property transfers to land development and compliance monitoring, we have the expertise and experience to navigate through the environmental assessment and permitting processes.
Maritime Testing offers comprehensive investigations to identify and delineate contaminants, natural features and conditions including watercourses, wetlands, and sulphide bearing slates that pose environmental liabilities and development limitations. We work closely with our Geotechnical sector to provide solutions to development challenges and assist your designer in optimizing and maximizing property use.
There is opportunity in developing contaminated sites. For over 30 years, our engineers and technicians have worked closely with our clients to provide creative and cost-effective geotechnical solutions. Maritime Testing has developed local and regional expertise of subsurface conditions that is fundamental to planning and executing borehole and test pit geotechnical investigations. Projects typically are carried out using an integrated team of professionals and technicians, which permits efficiencies in the work and in our clients' management requirements. By adding value to a project, we are able to limit our clients risk exposure and ensure cost-effectiveness and innovation.
Our geotechnical expertise is used in a wide range of markets to determine the subsurface conditions and provide design input for site development, building construction and earthworks. Geotechnical services and investigations are provided to projects ranging from small residential dwellings to multi-storey high rise buildings. Typical projects include landfills, major infrastructure and urban developments, pipelines and utilities, road, rail and urban transit, and tunnels and underground storage facilities.

As part of our on-going expansion of operations, we are currently recruiting Civil / Geomaterials Technicians and Technologists to be based at our Dartmouth office. Successful applicants should be willing to travel within Nova Scotia. Permanent and seasonal positions are available.
Candidates should have a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent. Experience in materials testing is preferred; however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Primary duties will include, but not be limited to, both field and laboratory work such as:
